WHAT IS CRESCENDO?
A Fine and Performing Arts Singles Support Group

Crescendo is an exciting group of unmarried adults of all ages and varying backgrounds who support the fine and performing arts in Alabama by attending musical presentations, theatre productions, art exhibits, independent films, dance programs and other arts events in Alabama. The members of Crescendo are drawn together by a common interest in and appreciation of the fine and performing arts.

Joining Crescendo provides a real plus to single adults in the Birmingham area. As a member you will be notified of and encouraged to attend a whole series of enjoyable events the organization has planned. Crescendo sponsors:

• Attendance as a group at many and various Alabama Symphony Orchestra and other mostly classical music concerts

• Frequent pre-event dinners and social hours as a group

• Dessert and coffee get-togethers after various cultural events

• Festive, open parties always in an elegant setting (You won't want to miss these!)

• Enjoyable, informal potluck supper parties

• Cookouts, picnics, and lake and pool parties during the summer

• Concerts in parks with group picnics beforehand

• Attendance at theatre presentations, dance performances and art exhibits

• Monthly singles mingles

Throughout the year, Crescendo has high visibility providing support to various fine and performing arts organizations and hospitality and refreshment tables at certain cultural events. Crescendo usually reserves seats for selected performances and concerts so that Crescendo members and guests can sit together as a group. For outdoor concerts, Crescendo reserves a preferred space on the grounds where members can congregate and have concurrent activities, such as picnics.

We are a singles social organization, and we have activities throughout the year. These activities range from parties and receptions at quality and interesting locations to theatre excursions to dinner cruises. Crescendo members also participate in various projects in support of fine arts organizations in the Birmingham area. Crescendo provides an excellent medium for meeting interesting fellow singles with common interests.

Crescendo currently organizes an average of nine or ten events for singles per month. Note which of our activities interest you, and then schedule yourself to take part in them. You don't have to be a member to participate in our activities. However, once you do attend Crescendo functions, we believe you will want to become a member of Crescendo. Membership Application is open to all adult singles. We assure you that Crescendo people are known for always being friendly to newcomers and making them feel welcome and a part of the group. Over one hundred single adults have joined Crescendo in the past eleven  months. This response is a direct result of the group's cordial reception of newcomers.
