Sunday Soiree Sites Needed

Crescendo is actively seeking appropriate locations for our Sunday Soirees held about four times per year. Sties must be reasonably elegant, accessible with convenient parking, permit wine, allow us to furnish our own food and preferably free or priced at under $75. Locations between and including Southside to Hoover and Mountain Brook are preferred. Please call Lory Avsar, 205-969-1956 with your suggestions.

Concert Social Hour Volunteers Needed

Bring your smile, make new friends, and help recruit new members for Crescendo!  We need volunteers to greet visitors stopping by the Crescendo table in the Alys Stephens Center lobby during the hour prior to selected fall concerts sponsored by the Alys Stephens Center.  Please call Vera Tomana, 424-1682, to volunteer to help out at these fun events.

Request for Assistance

Crescendo is in need of a volunteer to assist us once a month. The Area Cultural Alliance now has a website calendar of cultural events. The Alliance requires that Crescendo entries to this calendar be submitted to them in their particular format. Dan Frederick will prepare the calendar in the usual format such as you see in this newsletter, so our volunteer will not need to schedule events or compose announcements. Inclusion in the Alliance’s monthly calendar will gain us considerable additional publicity. Would those of you who would like to volunteer for this monthly assignment please call Dan Frederick, 205-631-4680 or email at dfred4@bellsouth.net as soon as possible? The sooner we start sending our calendar of events to the Alliance’s calendar website, the more people we’ll have to join our organization and participate in our various activities.

Free Newsletter Subscriptions

If you are not a Crescendo member and are receiving our newsletter, you will receive two complimentary copies.  Once you have received your second newsletter, your newsletters will end unless you join.  We are confident that you will want to continue to receive our monthly newsletters so that you won’t miss out on the details of the many exciting social and cultural events we have planned for you to enjoy.  So please make plans to visit us.  Attend some of our fun-filled events this month and next.  Then please join Crescendo. 

Help Recruit New Members

We all want to expand Crescendo’s membership.  You can help.  Please invite your single friends to our many events for singles.  Those of you who have or who can obtain membership lists from singles groups, please get them and arrange to give them to Rogers Alley, Crescendo Database Manager, 205-520-5049 or 205-410-7528 or email bones40k@yahoo.com  Also, please give the names and addresses of your individual single friends who you think might be interested in Crescendo to Dan Frederick, Crescendo Membership Chairman, 205-631-4680 or email to crescendo@bellsouth.net.  Remember, the more members Crescendo has, the more interesting new friends you’ll make at Crescendo events.

How to Join Crescendo as a New Member

If you are not already a Crescendo member, you may join Birmingham’s most intriguing social organization by filling out the membership application on this website.  Please mail the application with your $30 dues check to the Crescendo P.O. Box on the application. 

Credit Union Eligibility

Crescendo is a member of Alabama Central Credit Union (ACCU).  Thus, if you are a member of Crescendo, you are also eligible for membership in the ACCU where you can take advantage of more than 80 valuable financial services including: free checking, low-cost loans, low-rate credit cards, profitable investments and much more.  ACCU has six branches in the Birmingham Metropolitan Area to serve you conveniently.
 
Please call ACCU Member Services, 205-591-2228, Extension 300 for information and enrollment forms for this added benefit of Crescendo membership.  If you become a member of ACCU, your family members are also eligible for separate credit union membership without being required to join Crescendo. 

Eliminate those pesky monthly bank service charges which, as you know, do add up.  As a Crescendo member, open a checking account at ACCU with no minimum balance and no monthly service charges!
